Summer Walker needs love. She sings all about it in her aptly titled, “Girls Need Love.” But while her song lyrics sizzle with sex appeal, the Atlanta newcomer’s artistry is also in need of affection. Her 2018 debut, ‘Last Days of Summer,’ brims with old school heartache and millennial panache. That combination, combined with Walker’s swagger and forthright personality, just might help her capture 2019’s It Girl crown. Olivia Rodrigo - deja vu (Live Performance) | Vevo LIFT

Acting isn’t the only thing that Olivia Rodrigo is great at. When the ‘High School Musical: The Musical: The Series’ star dropped her “drivers license” video back at the start of the year, the overwhelming response made it clear that she had a way of deeply communicating with listeners not only as an actor, but as an artist. Views-wise, it crossed the 200-million mark in just four months. Pretty impressive for someone who had never put out an album on her own. Rodrigo, who proved “drivers license” was no fluke when “deja vu” also hit a home run upon release last month, is fixing that. Her ‘Sour’ debut arrives on May 21, and by the time it gets here, she will have performed at both the BRIT Awards and Saturday Night Live. Billboard reports that the 18-year-old pop phenom is the “first artist to send her first two proper singles straight into the Hot 100’s top 10.” The SoCal native, who wrote “driver’s license” with her pal Dan Nigro, recently told the press that she was obsessed with emotions, and loved her jobs as both actor and musician because they allow her to be so expressive. We’re thrilled that we got to work with Olivia on designing our exclusive LIFT content. A few weeks ago we hit the L.A., connected with Team Rodrigo, and came home with the kind of pieces that will give fans a revealing look into the singer’s personality, two unique performances and an exclusive interview portrait. First up is “deja vu,” and the setting couldn’t be any more fun. “These pieces look amazing on film,” says Rodrigo. “It captures the tone of my work in a really powerful way.” Hang tight, there’s more Olivia on the way.

keshi - ANGOSTURA. An exclusive live performance for Vevo.

The last time we worked with keshi was in 2020 for our DSCVR At Home series, which brought live performances to the masses during lockdown. Back then, supporting his hushed ballad “More,” we hinted that an album was in the works. Next week it finally arrives. The versatile singer/rapper/producer asserts that ‘Gabriel’ is about his “life at the moment; it’s very honest and candid.” That latter word certainly describes “GET IT,” a boldly bumpin’ and lyrically brash track that announces keshi is yet again pushing the boundaries of his craft. As he goes through his checklist - “Got my money (Check) / Lady (Check) / Rollie (Check) / Mary (Check)” - it’s easy to see this is an artist whose confidence is sky high. He brought that authority to our studio, too, reeling in the swag a bit and adding a pinch of earnestness. Meanwhile, on “ANGOSTURA,” he dove even deeper into his R&B bag. Mr. Versatile strikes again.

It's a thrill to watch an artist blossom, to see them fulfill the dream of becoming an adventurous creative whose work impacts a deeply devoted audience. That's why we're tickled to continue our work with Tate McRae. Four years ago we invited the then teen to our DSCVR program, where she delivered engaging performances of "feel like shit" and "happy face." A couple years later she was back for a heart-rending piano-and-voice version of "she's all i wanna be," whose intimacy bordered on frightening. Along the way her articulation grew, her perspectives broadened, and the feels she put front and center became more powerful. YouTube channel, TikTok feed, the eloquence of each track on 'i used to think i could fly' - they all nudged her forward and deepened her relationship with her ever-grown cadre of fans. When 'THINK LATER' hit at the end of '23, it was obviously time to capture McRae in action again. Our Extended Play team worked with Tate to craft performances in settings that enhance her music and amplify her vision. The Calgary native is now an LA local, and "exes" unfolds in a shadowy SoCal bedroom where memories stand in the corners and the roller coaster of romance provides thrills both wanted and unwanted. It's the first of our Extended Play performances, so stay close - more are on their way, and each is set to have Tate share herself even further.
